1. About this policy
All information and data that is posted on or entered into this website is managed by the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort, LLC.
The Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort, hereafter referred to as the Buffalo Lodge, our Company, We, or Us, is a Colorado business and therefore follows best data practices under Colorado state law. As we are a hotel and deal with many individuals from different states and countries, where applicable, we follow stricter data policies such as the GDPR or CCPA.
This policy is to inform the reader – hereafter referred to as Guest, Visitor, You, or plurals of the same terms – of our collection and usage of their personal data, and their informational rights under our current data privacy policy. By accepting cookies or continuing to use our website or services, you agree to this policy and the information contained therein.
2. What data we collect
We collect basic usage data from anyone visiting our website or social media pages, as well as processing any personal data input into our contact forms, event signups, and booking software. We also collect and input guests’ information into our booking software at check-in.

3. Where and why we collect your data
When visiting bicycleresort.com, we will collect basic usage data as listed above for the purposes of maintaining the site services and providing the best experience possible. For example, we need to use your public device information in order to determine your screen size, to show you either the mobile or desktop site depending on which works best on your specific device. We do not collect secure personal information like device ownership or biometric data.
If you visit our Social Media pages and interact with our posts or content, the social media platform will provide us with metrics like your username, account name, and sometimes, device and location, as they would when visiting any social media page. These are used to determine the reach and success of our social content, and to respond to guest comments and inquiries.
While at the Buffalo Lodge, there are security cameras filming the public areas of the property, in order to ensure a safe and secure resort. We respect our guests’ privacy, and there are no cameras inside guest rooms or other areas where privacy would be expected.
During online or phone bookings, or when checking in at the front desk, we will collect guests’ personal information as listed above, for the purpose of registering your room and processing your payments. This information will be input into our secure online booking software. The Buffalo Lodge takes information security seriously, and while no online system is 100% secure, we follow best practices to ensure the safety of your personal information.
4. Data shared with third parties
As a company, we keep data private and secure whenever possible. However in some situations, we may be required to share your data with other companies as a necessity, or with government or local authorities as required by law.
Our website and web services are set up through the Wix website builder. As such, they must have access to much of the data processed through our website, in order to continue to maintain the web services. Wix’s data and privacy policy is available to read here. If you have any problems with their data practices, or your data being processed through their servers, please reach out to us so that we can make a request to remove your personal information from our website.
If you sign up for our email list, your email may be provided to Mailchimp for the purpose of sending out emails to the correct address. They will not be in possession of other information, nor will they share your email with third-party marketers.
Both our Instagram and Facebook pages are managed through Meta Business. Any information on our social media will be processed by Meta. For reference, Meta’s privacy policy is available here. If you have any problems with their data practices or policies, we recommend refraining from using their services, and reaching out to Meta directly to complain. Messages sent over social media platforms will be kept private unless there are threats or complaints that need to be escalated to another company, or the authorities.
The software we use for processing direct bookings goes through Siteminder’s servers. The information is all encrypted and sensitive information is not accessible to Siteminder itself. If booking through third-party sites like Expedia or Booking.com, all information will go through them before reaching us. As we have no control over third-party systems, we recommend reaching out to the third-party booking site directly if you have any issues with those companies or their data policies.
In certain situations, such as a crime being committed on property, or in the event of an active investigation, we may be required to share your information with local or federal law enforcement. In all other circumstances, we will keep your data stored as privately and securely as possible.
5. Cookies and cookie use
A cookie is a small digital file stored on your device in order to keep track of visits, show relevant information, or keep guests signed in to site services. Bicycleresort.com uses cookies for essential processes, and for analytics and marketing purposes.
Essential cookies have to be enabled in order to access the website; but if you would like to opt-out of marketing cookies, please hit “decline” on our cookie banner or contact us to request an opt-out.
6. AI and bot use policy
We use minimal AI tools on our website or social media pages. Some text may be edited or tone-adjusted with the use of generative AI.
We do not post or create AI generated images of the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. If you see any obviously AI generated images of the Buffalo Lodge, its employees or its events, we would appreciate it if you would contact us, so we can take it down.
AI image models are prohibited from scanning our website to use as training data. All images are the property of Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Gemini – are disallowed to scan images or graphics on bicycleresort.com.
Bots and third-party scripting tools are not used, nor allowed on bicycleresort.com. Please refrain from using bots to send messages through our contact forms or crawl our website.
7. How we communicate with site users
Communication with our guests takes a variety of forms. If you book a room, sign up for our email newsletter, or RSVP to an event, we may send you emails. If you would like to unsubscribe or reduce the frequency of these emails, please hit the unsubscribe button in one of our monthly emails or reach out to us directly.
If you provide a phone number when booking a room, we may text or call you with important information about your stay. We will not contact you without reason or share your phone number with third-party marketers.
We keep in contact with guests and locals over the internet, through our website and social media pages. Most information about music, events, or other happenings is available online. These events are subject to change, so we recommend checking the website close to your visit for the most accurate information.
