Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is a cyclist centered hotel in Colorado Springs, designed for and by cyclists and adventurers looking to explore all that Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, and the greater Pikes Peak Region have to offer.​
2 / Where is Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort located?
Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is located at 2 El Paso Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nestled in between Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs at the base of Pikes Peak.
3 / What makes Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort unique?
Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is an independently owned and operated boutique hotel with 47 rooms, 4 luxury glamping tents, an outdoor heated pool, beach volleyball court, outdoor pavilion area, and concert patio. Open year round, our historic motor court hotel is the perfect basecamp for adventures in the Pikes Peak Region. We also offer complimentary single speed bikes to our overnight guests and can help recommend biking trails depending on guests’ goals and abilities.
4 / Is Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort family-friendly?
Yes, we love having families at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. We have family friendly suites complete with bunk beds and separate spaces. Kids love riding our bikes through the property and swimming in our seasonal heated outdoor pool.
5 / Is the Lodge pet-friendly?
Yes! We have a handful of dog-friendly rooms. Please let our front desk know if you plan to bring your dog with you so we can put you in one of these rooms. There is a $50 pet fee at the time of check in.
6 / Is smoking allowed?
We allow smoking only in designated areas of the property, specifically the front patio and our back parking lot. Smoking of any kind (including oil vaping, marijuana, candles or incense) is strictly prohibited inside all rooms and the lobby. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged if we suspect smoking occurred in the room. Please dispose of cigarette butts appropriately (not on the ground).
7 / Do I have to be a cyclist to stay?
No, you don’t need to be a cyclist to stay with us! Although we are bicycle-themed, the Buffalo Lodge is the perfect location to begin any adventure in the Pikes Peak Region and everyone is welcome. There are an abundance of amazing tourist attractions, hiking trails, and activities to enjoy during your stay. If you don’t have a bike, we invite you to try one of ours, and explore our city and trails by bicycle. It's a fantastic way to take it all in.

8 / What types of rooms and suites are available?
We offer a variety of uniquely decorated, bike-friendly accommodations to suit every type of traveler. Guests can choose from cozy single rooms, spacious double and family rooms, and larger suites featuring kitchenettes or full kitchens for extended stays. For groups or those seeking extra space, cottages and loft-style suites are available, while seasonal glamping tents in the “Glamp Garden” offer a fun outdoor experience. All rooms include private outdoor entrances, Wi-Fi, mini-fridges, microwaves, coffee makers, and convenient parking, plus many feature in-room bike racks and dog-friendly options. 9 / Does the resort offer bike rentals?
While we don’t rent bicycles, we do offer a fleet of free single speed bikes for our overnight guests. If you want to rent gravel, mountain, or road bikes reach out to Ted’s Bicycle Shop. Or if you want to ride e-bikes, we partner with Incline-bikes in Manitou Springs.
10 / Is there a pool at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort?
Yes, our pool is open seasonally, May through October, depending on the weather, and is heated to 90º F.
11 / Do the rooms have air conditioning, WiFi, and modern amenities?
Each of our rooms have their own AC and heaters, WiFi is available throughout the entire property. Other amenities include access to our bike fleet, in room bike storage, and our free weekly activities and live music. In room amenities include a keurig, mini fridge, and microwave.
12 / How does housekeeping work at the Lodge?
As a part of our eco-initiative we respect our guests' privacy and will provide housekeeping upon your request. Guests may put trash outside their rooms by 10 am for housekeeping to collect. And if you need anything, our staff are happy to help in any way we can!
13 / Does the Lodge provide breakfast?
Breakfast is available from 7 - 10 am everyday and includes a build-your-own waffle bar, yogurt, English Muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, and more.
Check-Ins
& Bookings
14 / What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in begins at 3 pm & check-out is by 10 am. Late check-out may be available depending on staffing and hotel capacity. If possible, an extension until 11 am will be complimentary. Anything after that will be an additional $50 fee.
15 / How do I make or change a reservation?
You can book directly at bicycleresort.com or by calling our front desk at 719-634-2851. By booking directly, you get the best price and can easily make changes to your reservation. If you have booked via a third party such as Expedia or Booking.com, you must contact them to make changes to your reservation.
16 / What is your cancellation policy?
We typically charge a 1st night deposit to the credit card provided within 1 week of making your reservation (refundable with 7 days prior cancellation notice to check-in). Balance & taxes are due at check-in. We require a $50 pre-authorization for incidentals on all credit card bookings. If paying with a debit card, we require a $250 refundable damage deposit as a funds hold on your debit card. Visa gift cards and 3rd party payments are not accepted.
17 / Is parking available at the resort?
Each room comes with one compact parking spot in front of your room. If you have a large SUV or truck, there is additional parking at the back of our property.
18 / Does Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort offer group bookings or event space?
Our spaces are available for event rentals pending availability. Please see our events page and contact us directly for more information and rates.
Biking & Outdoor Adventures
19 / Are there biking trails near Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort?
We are close to the Colorado Springs’ urban trail system with easy access to downtown COS or Manitou Springs. If you are looking for gravel cycling, we recommend rampart range road.
20 / Does the Lodge organize group rides?
We have a variety of group rides; March through November we have the Buffalo Trails and Ales ride through Garden of the Gods taking place Monday nights at 5:30 pm and our year-round Saturday Resort Ride, taking place at 8:30 am from Memorial to Labor Day, and 10 am the rest of the year, that rides all around COS and goes about 20 miles each ride. Memorial Day through Labor Day we offer the Bike to Brews ride, a casual weekly ride to one of our local breweries.
21 / Can I store my bike safely at the resort?

22 / Are there hiking trails nearby?
Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort is located less than ½ mile from Garden of the Gods you can easily walk into the garden to hike! We are also a 5 minute drive from the main parking lot of Red Rock Open Space, a beautiful trail system enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.

Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort hosts a number of events throughout the year beginning with the Roll Bike Art Festival in June, Rampart Rager Gravel Race in late summer, and BuffaloGrass Music Festival the first weekend of October.

At Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort, we care about your comfort and the environment. To conserve resources, we will refresh linens and towels upon request. If you need anything sooner, just let us know. We recently upgraded to refillable soap pumps to reduce our plastic waste. Reusable ceramic mugs are offered in each of our rooms for guest use during their stay.

We are located less than ½ a mile from Garden of the Gods by foot on Columbia Ave. Plus we are 5 minute drive from 3 different roads that go into the Garden; Beckers Lane, Ridge Road, and Balance Rock.

29 / How close is the Lodge to Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City?
The Lodge is less than 2 miles from the main strip of Manitou Springs, and about 1 mile away from the start of Old Colorado City. Grab one of our single speed bikes, a helmet, and a lock from the Front Desk and ride in! Our staff will be happy to suggest a route for you!

There is so much to do and explore in the Pikes Peak Region throughout the year. We recommend checking out Visit Colorado Springs and Visit Manitou Springs for a full list of activities in the area. With over 300 days of sun, you can enjoy inside activities in the morning and be outside exploring by the afternoon!

31 / Can cyclists ride directly from the Lodge to Garden of the Gods?
Cyclists can leave from Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort and ride directly into Garden of the Gods by riding west on El Paso Blvd to Beckers Drive and turning right, which will take you to the Garden of the Gods Trading Post and into the Garden of the Gods. If riders are looking for a challenge, take Ridge Road up into Garden of the Gods. Ridge Road is a steep incline road that will take you to an overlook you can then ride down into the main Garden.
32 / Does the Lodge host live music?
Here at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort, we love local live music so we have free live music 5 nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday!
33 / Does Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort offer glamping?
Our seasonal Glamp Garden is open May through October, featuring our private Glamp Garden with 4 luxury safari style tents, yard, fire pit, and access to our outdoor bathrooms. We do not offer car camping or boondocking on our property.
34 / Where are the bathrooms for the Glamp Garden?
Our Glamping guests have access to the restrooms located by the pool, just a short walk from the tents. We’re always working to improve the property, and we recently completed a major plumbing upgrade to boost water pressure in those bathrooms for a more comfortable experience.
35 / Are there family or kid-friendly activities on site?
Our seasonal heated outdoor pool is a kid-friendly favorite from May through October. Plus we offer bikes for every size and age, perfect for kids who love to ride!
