Refreshing Buffalo Lodge: Fresh Paint, Patio Shades & 10 Years of Community

There’s something special about bringing a place back to life—and that’s exactly what’s been happening here at Buffalo Lodge.

Over the past few months, we’ve been carefully repainting our buildings, restoring them to their original off-white color, accented with the signature pops of turquoise that make the property feel bright, welcoming, and unmistakably ours. After several years of harsh Colorado winters resulting in peeling paint and wear across all of our buildings, it was time for a refresh that honored both the past and the experience we want every guest to have when they arrive.

This winter, after a lot of research and thoughtful consideration, we narrowed in on the most authentic shade—one that reflects the lodge’s history while giving it a clean, refreshed feel. The result is a look that feels both timeless and vibrant, blending heritage with the energy of the cycling community that fills this space every day.

The Main Lodge was completed in mid-April, and the transformation has already made a huge impact. If you’ve driven by recently, you may have also noticed that our first cottage —home to the buffalo mural—has been freshly repainted as well thanks to our in house painter, John!

Now, we’re continuing the project as we move on to repainting our cottage buildings, bringing the entire property back to life one structure at a time.

But the updates don’t stop with paint.

Out front, we’ve added new sun shades to the patio—creating the perfect spot to take a midday break during a ride. Whether you’re coming back from Garden of the Gods or cruising through town, you can now relax in the shade, grab your favorite beverage from The Watering Hole, and enjoy a laid-back moment at the lodge. Give Scott a high five for the sun shades, they really help make the patio a welcoming place in the middle of a hot sunny day!

It’s all part of making Buffalo Lodge not just a place to stay, but a community for connecting and enjoying the ride!
