It's about safety and allowing cyclists to get through an intersection faster so that crash risk is minimized, since intersections are the most dangerous road infrastructure for people on bicycles. Young riders under the age of 15 may perform the SS but MUST have a parent or legal guardian accompany them. 2) Sharrows simply indicate and remind motorists to expect bicyclists on the roadway. They do not delineate where the bicyclist should ride but merely communicate with motorists to expect bicyclists taking the lane. A behind the scenes look at volunteers busy at work getting bikes ready at Ted's Bicycles for the Big Bob Telemosse Christmas Bike Giveaway. It's the 20th year owner Tony Hoewisch has been a part of this 42 year old Colorado Springs Event. This year they plan on giving away nearly 900 bikes to children in our community. They have just two weeks left and still need funds to purchase more bikes or donations of new or gently used bikes. Stop by Ted's Bicycles to drop off or donate.
